Psychological therapies for adults, young people and children
The Oakdale Centre is here for our Clients and Community
Please contact us as usual to arrange an appointment
At the Oakdale Centre we are only too aware of the multitude of pressures the current situation is putting on everyone. We are dedicated and determined to continue to support our clients in the best way that we possibly can as we are impacted by the constraints we are going to have to bear and the consequences of what is happening in our families and communities.
Oakdale Centre practitioners are continuing to deliver therapy, although this is now being done remotely; and all our staff are working from home. This means that we are answering phone calls and emails as usual.
We are providing support using telephone sessions as well as online sessions, texting and email support. This applies to individual, couples and family work and work across the age range. It also includes most types of therapy – although of course some are more challenging than others to deliver in this way.
The good news is that clients are already telling us that this new way of delivering therapy is helpful for them.
In the coming weeks and months we will continue to provide a range of online services and will be listening and responding to our clients as they tell us about what is working well for them and what they need from us.
Your emotional wellbeing is our priority
Please don’t hesitate to telephone us on 01423 503080 or email us at email@example.com if you have any queries about an upcoming appointment or are a new or returning client.
Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Oakdale Centre
The Oakdale Centre is a leading independent provider of psychological therapies and personal development to adults, young people, children and families across the North of England.
We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company committed to understanding and appreciating the needs of our clients and providing the most appropriate support, psychological therapy or personal development to help with current difficulties and cope with life’s challenges.
Psychological support, from a Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Counsellor or Psychotherapist, can provide you with the opportunity to discuss your problems with a professional; someone who is understanding and non-judgemental, outside the sphere of your immediate family, friends and colleagues.
Speaking to, and being truly listened to, by a trained, experienced professional in a therapeutic way could help you make sense of why and how you feel and behave the way you do. Often people do not know what is causing them emotional pain and distress, and therapy can help you to better understand your problems, enable and empower you to live your life in the way you want to and to make better decisions.
Therapy can help with current difficulties as well as issues associated with early life experiences and can be very useful for a range of problems such as depression, anxiety and relationship issues. It can be short term, a matter of weeks, or long term, over months, helping you to make the changes you want to make in your life.

Our core belief is simple: regardless of who you are, or what you have experienced in your life, our focus is on what sort of psychological support would be helpful for you right now.
